Planting, Planning and Partying!

What makes Overbury Estate such a wonderful place to live and work is the people who live here.  Overbury has a great community spirit and there is always something happening.

Recently, at the Village Hall, we had a Burns’ Night celebration.  The evening was a great success.  Feasting, dancing and fun was had by all who came along.  The night was held to raise funds for St Faith’s Church and an amazing £800 was made for this great cause.

COCOLast weekend saw the members of COCO (Conderton and Overbury Community Orchard) carrying out the annual tree planting. Around 40 trees were planted, including varieties such as Merryweather Damson, Perry Pear and Pershore Emblem Plum.

If you want to get involved in COCO, please contact call Claire on reception 01386 725111 or email [email protected].

On the 9th July there is the annual Overbury Street Market, organised by Andrew John, the retired Farm Manager, with proceeds been contributed across a number of village causes, from the Cricket Club, the Village Hall, The Church and so on (Insert last years funds of what went where?)

It may seem like a long way off but, if you are inclined to carry out a spot of spring cleaning, please do bear it in mind.  Any old items of good quality brick-a-brac, tools, books, old toys etc. which you may be thinking of getting rid of, may be just what someone else is looking for.  If you have any items you wish to donate please contact Andrew John on 01386 725229.  Alternatively you can bring items to the Estate Office.

Street Market

There will be many other ways you can get involved in the Overbury Street Market.  Andrew and the people running the stalls will always welcome help on the day, and we always are in need of cakes and preserves for Ann’s pantry. The Estate team are always available for tasting should you wish!

Keep up to date with all the latest news by following us on Facebook and Twitter.  You can also visit www.overbury.org for more ways to get involved.

Also on a slightly different note, as you will be all too aware we have rather a lot of rain recently, please do keep a look out for blocked gutters, debris covering drains and any running water where it shouldn’t be! It can all make a big difference and prevent damage to our properties.

Together we will keep Overbury Estate special.
