This month the Overbury Gardens Department has been concentrating upon turf care for the coming year.
This has involved using a Sissis splitter to help receive compaction caused by the high rainfall since October last year.
Once a moss killing agent was applied this was followed up with scarifying which is pulling the moss and thatch built up from last year out of the grass. In this case the gardening team used a tractor mounted scarifier as shown.
Once the scarification has been undertaken then over seeding is required to fill the bare areas with grass instead of the moss, weeds etc that have been removed.
Spring is definitely in full swing as the Magnolia in the Overbury churchyard is producing a fabulous display this year.
Further to this are the beautiful bulbs around the Estate. Spring has definitely arrived.
