Garden Team
2021 has been a wonderful year in the gardens at Overbury, we have had some major projects and events, in the Court Garden we have been busy with the ‘Kemerton Walk’ our rose garden which has been completely restored and will be planted in 2022.

We also had our first garden National Garden Scheme open day, where we raised over £1,000 and also £200 from plant sales for St Faith’s Church.
The team have been very busy planting bulbs this Autumn, in total of well over 7,000, and these should give us great joy as they emerge in the spring (if the squirrels haven’t stolen them first). We also planted over 300 bulbs with the Grasshoppers children to create a bug friendly spring bulb meadow in the car park area.
Our lovely florist Sarah Champier of Floral Eccentrics ran a couple of festive wreath making courses in the village hall in the run up to Christmas which were well enjoyed by all who attended them.
Looking forward to 2022, there will be a second open day at the Court on April 2nd and this will mean visitors to the garden can see some of the 7,000 bulbs in flower complimenting those that were already in the spring display. We also intend to do a few clearance and tidying jobs over the winter around Overbury so hopefully by spring you’ll notice a change for the better, including some of the community parking areas, that will be getting a much needed face lift.
The garden team has had a great 2021 and is looking forward to an even better 2022, if you ever see us out and about please do stop to say hello and quiz us on any gardening issues you may have.
