Your chance to see the proposed school extension plans

Local people are invited to have a look at the exciting plans for the extension of Overbury Church of England First School at Overbury Village Hall this week (Friday, 12 October 10am – 8pm).

An architect’s scale model showing how the school would look will be on display and parishioners can discuss the proposals with the architects and members of the school community.

The reason for the proposed extension is to improve the facilities for pupils and staff alike and plans include:

A new entrance and reception area

A school hall with a kitchen and servery

Two additional teaching spaces

New landscaped play area

Overbury Church of England First School is a Grade 2 listed building, designed by renowned architect Richard Norman Shaw and was built in 1876-7 for Robert Martin. The school was extended in 1905 and 1913 by Ernest Newton with further additions in the mid-20th century.

The Overbury School building is part of the Overbury Estate and is let to Worcestershire County Council and currently has 70 children on roll. Open Day
