MEET ROBERT

MEET ROBERT

Robert joined Overbury Enterprises last Monday as our new Head Gardener and has been spending the week getting to know Overbury, the gardens and the team.

Trained at Pershore College from 2006-2008, Robert has a Higher National Certificate in Gardening.  We now also have Harry Phillips, on an Apprenticeship at Pershore, so all four of our gardeners will have trained there. Robert also studied Design with KLC in Chelsea (an Interior Design College).

Robert has previously worked for HRH Prince of Wales at Highgrove House and also trained others gardeners at Buckingham Palace and Balmoral the art of hedge cutting.  He has even given The Queen some gardening tips. He won a scholarship in 2015 to Yunnan, China to explore plants in the wild through the Alpine Garden Society.

Robert currently lives locally with his wife Lydia and their 2 children, Fraser and Fleurie. He enjoys playing the guitar and watching motor sports (which he hopes to take up as a hobby one day).  He is also a fan of real ale!

As well as getting to grips with the Court & Kitchen Garden’s, Robert will be helping the children at Grasshoppers Nursery with their Royal Horticultural Society School Gardening Awards.  Robert & Tom will be putting their heads together to come up with some ideas to help us in our gardens by providing specialist services such as pruning, scarifying and clearance – amongst other things so watch this space!

Do say hello if you see him out and about.
