Meet Simon - National Apprenticeship Week 2015

This week is National Apprenticeship Week 2015.

We want to share with you a great story and invite you to be the next part of it.

Meet Simon.  He joined Overbury Estate in 2009 as an Apprentice Joiner / Carpenter. Simon went to Gloucestershire College and did a 3 year apprenticeship.  The first 2 years of the course were learning the basics of the trade at Level 2.  The third year was more advanced including workshop management and more complicated joinery.

Simon's apprenticeship ended in 2012 and he has given Overbury Estate a further 3 years of his wonderful skills.  He will soon be leaving us to pursue a further career in carpentry.  He wants to develop his cabinet making skills further afield and will soon be creating bespoke kitchens, staircases and furniture.

Simon has worked alongside his father, Alan, for the last 6 years learning much of what he knows from him.  Alan joined Overbury Estate in 1990 and is now in his 25th year with us.
