Lorna's Fundraising Challenge

Over the last few weeks Lorna Hughes, 1 Garden Cottages, has taken on the challenge of fundraising for an incredible charity, The Little Princesses Trust. But raising money is not the only challenge she faced.

pricess trustThe Little Princesses Trust provides real-hair wigs, free of charge, to boys and girls that have lost their own hair through cancer treatment and other illnesses.

"Instead of keep having my hair trimmed, I decided to just let it grow longer to have it cut for The Little Princess Trust."

"This is a fantastic cause providing wigs to children who are battling cancer. I am lucky in that my hair will grow again fairly quickly, but feel that more people could do this too if they just let their hair grow an extra few inches!"

After weeks of fundraising the day had arrived. On Wednesday 30th October friend and hairdresser Jude Dayne cut 14 inches off Lornas locks.

Lorna has so far received 19 donations so far, totaling £245 on her Just Giving Page. This is 70% of her £350 target, where she is still accepting donations.

"This to me is more about raising awareness that by just growing your hair an extra few inches, you too can donate to make a wig. I would like to think that someone would do the same for me or my family."
