On Saturday 4th May 2013 Jude Dayne, from Overbury, will be completing her 3rd Ultra Run. It takes place in the Malvern Hills and requires participants to complete a grueling 52 miles of hilly terrain.
After 4 months of training Jude will be running for around 12 hours, and tackling a total ascent of 8086 feet.
We agree, this sounds barmey! But, it is all for a very good cause.
Jude is riasing money for St Richard’s Hospice. The charity cares for patients and families in Worcestershire who are living with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. Each year they provide free care and support to around 2,300 patients and their families – helping them towards the best quality of life possible.
The hospice is funded by voluntary contributions and as a result provides 15 beds for patients, as well as a much needed day hospice. Visit St. Richard's Hospice to learn more about the work that they do.
Jude has raised £2901.00 through her Ultra runs in 2011 and 2012. Her aim this year is £3000.00. So lets all give her a helping hand.
