Off with a bang!

A spectacular fireworks display lit up the night sky at Overbury to wow local residents and the parents, children and Friends from Overbury First School. The appreciative crowd watched as multi-colour starbursts, rockets and catherine wheels exploded into the sky.

To get things off with a bang, the children had created three Guy Fawkes which were judged by former Farm Manager, Andrew John and resident Anne Moore. The winning Guy was designed by five-year-old Gregory, whose masterpiece was inspired by the 2012 Olympics. Gregory had the honour of lighting the bonfire with his father, supervised by Mr John.

A bucket collection was held for the Village Hall which raised over £400 and the Friends of Overbury School also raised funds for the School through sales of refreshments, hot dogs and glo sticks.
